ABOUT

Welcome to our community

We would be thrilled to have you visit us. Whenever you do, we want you to feel welcome and accepted. No matter what you’ve been through, where you come from, or what you believe, we hope you feel welcome and find friends in our congregation.

We are a friendly, informal, and non-traditional community but we’re more than a name and more than a caring community. We are family. We value and embrace our diversity and see it as a reflection of the biblical observation “how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in unity” (Psalm 133:1). We are glad to be united in Christ.

Our worship is contemporary and our dress is as diverse as we are. Our worship services typically last for an hour and are filled with awe-inspiring praise and thought-provoking messages. Our desire is that you leave feeling loved, encouraged, and hopeful. Feel free to grab a warm beverage as you are coming or going.

We serve a God who is not threatened by doubt or uncertainty. Although we don’t have all the answers, we welcome your questions. We also encourage you to visit us online at harmonysdachurch.org. We look forward to getting to know you better!

What we do

Besides our Saturday gatherings, we invite you to join us in a diverse range of community-building activities and events such as our yearly retreat in the beautiful Muskokas, projects and partnerships with humanitarian charities and NGOs, monthly potlucks, summer camping outings, and games nights.

We invite you to sign up for our email announcements and to check us out on Facebook @harmonysdachurch.

Our Pastor

Pastor Peter Caran & Family

"From the time I met a pastoral couple in the northern part of Europe, I always wanted to see my wife and I working shoulder to shoulder in ministry. The Lord has been good to us; we have done that for the past quarter of a century but in this past year, more than ever.

Our children are grown up and we have more time now to devote to visits, prayer, small groups, Bible studies, preaching, teaching, socializing and just having a good time with our friends and church family while meeting the needs of the community around us.

As a pastor my life and ministry are guided by the text found in John 15:1-8.

We love to walk, read, laugh, and spend time with our adult children."

Peter Caran
